Hilton Charlotte University Place

Very nice place! We had our wedding ceremony outside on the dock. It rained just at the start of the wedding but I was determined to have my wedding outside; after all I paid for it and the flowers! Needless to say, after the wait for the rain to disappear, I had to deal with some very rude guests of the hotel! They were hanging over the balcony of the restaurant with their beer laughing and talking very loudly. Now, for what it costs to have your wedding at the Hilton you would think that this would be the least of your worries, but whatever right? Anyway, other than that everything else was great. Fontella (wedding coordinator) at the Hilton was awesome to work with. I would definitely recommend the Hilton to a future bride! The Hilton did and superb job on making my wedding and reception An Affair to Remember. At the last minute I changed my wedding from being outside to being inside and they made the room beautiful, they ensured that all my vendors knew where to go and Fontella (Gilmore) Hinklin is thew absolute BEST. The Hilton ROCKS

The Hilton provided a wonderful reception for us. The only negative was we did not get to see our reception room before we arrived with the guests. The layout of the room and table placement was not like we had agreed upon. But for the entire reception that was the only negative.

We were extremely upset with several problems that happened at our reception at the Hilton. To name just a few, when they were setting up our room they left the doors to outside open (in 95+ degree weather) so when our reception started at 5:00 it was literally 85 degrees in the room. The water in the bathroom was literaly scalding the kids as they washed their hands. We ordered champagne for the toast and no one got champagne except for the bridal party. We were supposed to have tables set up outside for smokers and none were there.... The list goes on for the problems that we had. Of course, we still had a great time but I would never recommend the Hilton for the price we paid and the miscommunication that occurred.

I used The Hilton just for my reception. Fontella was the person that handled everything. Everything was perfect, it was like we were the only people there that night. I would recommend The Hilton-University to anyone, and ask for Fontella

I used the Hilton for my ceremony and reception location. It was beautiful inside and out. We had our ceremony outside on the dock. It was perfect because the sun went down on the other side so at 6pm there was the perfect amount of shade of where all of the guests were. The reception was a blast. The food was delicious and there was a ton of it. They do all inclusive packages that are pretty affordable for a wedding. I wanted to be some where classy and something people would remember and it definitely was. I had a few problems with miscommunication and some things kind of fell through the cracks on wedding day, but no big event can go off without a few problems. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and their services to any bride.

After their recent renovations the Hilton Charlotte University Place is one of the nicest placesto hold a reception. They have all inclusive packages that are really worth the price paid. They are decorated nicely and compliment all the wedding colors. They have a lot of options and nice to work with. Their dock is beautiful on a nice day and all my wedding pictures were wonderful out there!

I had a wonderful experience with the Hilton University Place as our ceremony and reception site. We were married on the dock by the lake outside which was beautiful. We then had our reception inside the hotel. I liked it because everything was right there- even where we slept. This was great for our guests who were mainly from out of town. The ladies at the Hilton were wonderful about helping with everything that we needed. I didn't feel I had anything to worry about the day of the wedding. I would highly recommend their services for your big day!
